I.

ABOUT

I'm a guitar player. Born in New York, now in Liverpool.

Someone else's song most days, my own when I can. I like tight rhythm playing, solos that end when they should, and getting the right tone for the song. I read charts, chord charts, and Nashville numbers.

I show up early because I want to be ready, and I stay late because I love being in the room.

The best sessions are the ones with fun in them. Everyone's paying attention, nobody's got an ego about their part, and everyone's actually enjoying themselves.

Late in a long session is a real place. Everyone's tired, everyone's still trying, and the people you want in the room are the ones still listening.

I care about the song coming out great more than how my part sounds. That's how you get called back.

Guitar is my peace. Most days it's the first thing I want to do and the last thing I want to stop. Rock, jazz, blues, folk, funk, pop, indie, and enough function-band gigs to know that being ready for any of them is most of the job.
